Thank you for not skimping on breakfast like so many Comfort Inns do. There is something special about the way your breakfast is prepared, presented, and cared for that puts this location above others. Monday morning was scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, bacon, warm cinnamon peaches. Tuesday was scrambled eggs, ham, small potatoes, and the warm peaches. You can tell that the ladies who prepare this breakfast take pride in their work. The scrambled eggs tasted better than any I have encountered at a Comfort Inn. The breakfast ladies were always cleaning up crumbs, restocking items, wiping tables, etc. The rooms are clean and furnished nicely. I found the lighting in the room to be dim, but I understand the energy saving bulbs. We booked this location in order to go to the Ringling Museum and Ca’ d’Zan (only 10’ away). This hotel is in a very nice area, safe, with many amenities nearby. Highly recommend!
Creativity & Pro-Activeness Make for a Most Excellent Stay
I had an unusually long stay of over two months at this Hotel do to circumstances surrounding a relocation. I needed to be able to work out of my Hotel Room as if it were my Home Office until those relocation difficulties could be resolved.
Initially, there were some hurdles to overcome in order to get my Room set-up to approximate the full capabilities of a Home Office. I needed an extra long Table, a Chair could maintain tall height and at that time Internet connectivity was poor.
All the personnel of the Hotel, from the GM Judy Holt, the Assistant GM Karla, the Chief Housekeeper and the “IT Man” Romero, worked very hard, very creatively, and very pro-actively to quickly resolve these problems. There was no passing the buck or pointing of fingers in trying to accomodate a Guest. They moved in an extra long Desk for me, a new Chair, and worked with their ISP to get almost all the Internet problems fully resolved, resulting in Internet Service that is now at least Very Good and often Excellent.
Likewise, the Front Desk personnel, Housekeepers and Caferia performed excellent work with a very friendly attitude to go along with it. The Housekeeper for my Room, Lucia, was particularly professionally good and also very collegial.
They also happen to have a very nice and well-equipped Weight & Exercise Room.
As I told the GM, there are a couple of areas for potential improvement in the Hotel
1) The Lighting in the Rooms is a somewhat dim for the individual Lamps. The GM said they will be changing that out for 2019. So, Management here is also responsive to Customer comments.
2) The local Power company has a problem with their own Transformers, that has impacted the Hotel. However, the GM pro-actively communicated with the Power company to get them to improve their own Power services, which seems to have worked, as the Power company has changed their Transformer architect.
To sum up, yes I would indeed return here! I Rate the Hotel overall as Excellent, with most individual categories Excellent and none less than Very Good.
Was a great place to stay while my daughter had her wedding in Myakka. My sister recommended it because she was staying there and we stayed 3 nights and we’re pleasantly surprised how great the staff was! From the front desk to maintenance and breakfast crew. We really felt like we were family not just guests. Thanks for a great stay!
